What is Oil Spill Containment?

Oil spill containment boom is an important equipment to deal with oil spill in marine environment, which is used to prevent polluted sea water from spreading.

Portable oil booms are commonly used to block the spread of oil pollution during oil spills at sea and ports.

The functions of oil booms can be summarized as three functions: containment and concentration, oil spill diversion and prevention of potential oil spills.

The oil spill boom facilitates the removal of oil spills, intercepts, controls, transfers the oil, and tows the oil to a suitable place for burning and treatment to prevent the spread of the fire.

When loading and unloading oil products on a tanker, oil booms should be used around the ship to enclose a water berm to prevent the spread of oil spills.
